A little over a year ago I happened upon a recipe for No-Knead Bread published by the NY Times. It looked interesting, so I decided to give it a try. After making my first loaf I was hooked on the no-knead method and since then I’ve made hundreds of breads ranging from the classic loaf, to rolls and even pretzels.
A simple search on YouTube for “no knead bread” yields hundreds of results. All of these recipes tend to vary slightly but at its core they will pretty much produce the same result. This no-knead technique is very flexible and can be used to create rolls, country style loaves, baguettes, and my all time favorite the classic loaf.
Out of the myriad of channels on YouTube that made videos on no-knead bread the one that stuck out to me the most was by a channel named artisanbreadwithstev and his How to Bake No-Knead Bread in a Poor Man’s Dutch Oven video. He showed an ingenious method that would enable me to make the loaf that I so desired. Something about him intrigued me, and I watched many of his videos, all of which are on various baked goods that could be made with the no knead methods with many variations for those who don’t own certain pots, pans, or dutch ovens. I even went through a period of time where my leading line on dating apps would be about no-knead bread and I would imitate Steve’s presenting style. I have included a few of my favorite interactions below.

It turns out that I had done this a little too much because I began getting recognized for my antics.

While I no longer spread the gospel of artisanbreadwithstev to others on dating applications, I still make no-knead bread to this day and highly recommend that you try it if you ever get a chance. You can follow Steve’s video or read the recipe on our site here.
