Bang Bang Ice Cream is located in Toronto, and is run by a brother and sister duo. Using premium quality ingredients they create unique flavors such as Genmaicha-Matcha Tiramisu.
They are always experimenting with new flavors so you can be certain that there will always be something new for you to try when you visit.

I had the pleasure of visiting Bang Bang Ice Cream during the summer of 2019. I had spent eating poutine, fish and chips, and pork buns, so I was craving something sweet. After a quick Google search I was instantly drawn to Bang Bang and decided to make the 30 minute trek out to their store.
The Instagram worthy desserts draw long lines. Even on a Tuesday evening my cousin and I stood for 20 minutes waiting for our chance to order.

Once we reached the front of the line we were greeted by a small store, and a wall full of flavors being served that day.

After choosing your flavors you can choose your vehicle of choice for the ice cream whether it be a cookie (choose between one or two cookies), waffle cone, puff pastry, cinnamon bun, or a cup if that’s what you desire.

I ordered a scoop of lychee rosewater raspberry, and a scoop of soursop ice cream, all sandwiched between two GINGERrrr cookies (spicy ginger cookie with peppered tops). My cousin ordered two scoops of Buttermint (peppermint, white chocolate, and butter), sandwiched between RoCOCOA cookies (chocolate sablé, maldon salt) .

As there is no seating inside we decided to walk a short distance before trying our ice cream. All of the ice cream was smooth and creamy and you could tell that they used high quality ingredients. My favorite was the soursop ice cream and the ginger cookie was good yet didn’t overpower the flavor of the ice cream. The RoCOCOA and Buttermint sandwich left more to be desired however. While it was still good the chocolate flavor was overwhelming the other flavors in the Buttermint and the combination ended up just tasting like your standard mint chocolate.
The desserts at Bang Bang are pricey and the 2 cookies and 2 scoops of ice cream cost my cousin and I $8.90 CAD each. The ice cream and Hong Kong waffle cone will set you back $12 CAD.
In order to get the most out of the experience I suggest you take full advantage of their unique menu and try something new. In my experience more traditional flavors that you are familiar with were underwhelming for the price. So be adventurous and give Bang Bang Ice Cream a try if you’re ever in Toronto!
